Medicol, which operates DentalCall, a dental-specific AI (artificial intelligence) phone coordination service, announced on the 17th that it has secured seed funding.
This investment was led by AI Angel Club, with participation from CNTech, Tail Ventures, and Antler Korea. Established in December last year, Medicol is developing a healthcare platform that uses AI agents to handle medical institution operations such as phone reception, appointment scheduling, consultations, recalls, patient management, and marketing.
Its first product, DentalCall, handles incoming calls to dental clinics 24 hours a day. It automates phone tasks including appointment booking, changes, cancellations, responding to patient inquiries, and summarizing consultation details, while also answering calls received during lunch breaks, evenings, and weekends.
It provides available time slots based on treatment schedules and medical staff availability and connects directly to actual appointments. It also supports outbound management for existing patients, handling tasks such as scaling and regular checkup recalls, post-treatment follow-up calls, and reminders for return visits.
Medicol has already secured paying customers overseas. Currently, it supplies AI agent services to a telecommunications company in Thailand and medical institutions in the Philippines, confirming its overseas business performance and localization potential through these efforts.
Medicol plans to use the investment funds for product enhancement, expanding sales and partner networks, and strengthening its organization. Starting with DentalCall, it aims to increase the number of AI agents tailored to specific tasks and connect them all within a single platform.
Moon In-wook, CEO of Medicol, stated, "We are not just automating a single task but creating an operational model where AI agents responsible for various areas of patient management and medical institution operations collaborate within one platform." He added, "We will expand into AI agents that support the entire spectrum of medical institution operations."
Choi Sung-ho, Chairman of AI Angel Club, said, "DentalCall accurately identifies real-world problems at dental clinics and solves them using AI technology. We highly evaluated it as a product that meets actual on-site needs and recognized Medicol's team for its strong execution capabilities."
