AI startup Cleon announced on the 7th that it will unveil an 'AI Role-Play Solution' co-developed with Samsung Life. The solution will make its debut over two days starting from the 9th at the global startup event 'Try Everything 2026', held at Seoul's Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
This solution enables AI to assume the role of actual customers, engaging in real-time conversations with users to train them on consultation scenarios. It goes beyond simply answering preset questions or reading input sentences. By applying Cleon's developed conversational interaction (Human Interaction) AI technology, the system listens to the other party's words and continues the conversation according to the situation.
AI customers' responses vary each time depending on the user's questions and explanation methods. They may request additional explanations tailored to customer traits or situations, allowing for repeated training that closely mirrors real-world consultations. The solution does not stop at providing text-based answers; it naturally implements non-verbal expressions such as facial expressions, eye contact, and gestures according to the conversational context.
Companies structure and manage conversation and evaluation data accumulated during repetitive training processes. This enables them to identify specific points where employees face difficulties, provide customized feedback, and utilize these insights to improve business processes.
The collaboration between the two companies began in 2022 with 'Samsung Financial C-Lab Outside'. At that time, Cleon was selected as the top startup by Samsung Life's division and subsequently secured Series A funding from Samsung Venture Investment the following year. After undergoing continuous technical validation (PoC), the jointly developed solution was designated as an innovative financial service this year.
Cleon plans to expand the application of its solution beyond this practical implementation to various industries where interaction is crucial, including education, retail, customer consultation, and entertainment.
Jin Seung-hyeok, CEO of Cleon, stated, "We focused on enabling AI to continuously interact with real people rather than just screen-based characters, solving real-world problems." He added, "We hope this will set a precedent for companies and startups creating new industry use cases through long-term collaboration."
