AI semiconductor startup FuriosaAI has established a local branch in Singapore and is accelerating its expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market. The company plans to expand its customer base in the global AI infrastructure market by leveraging its self-developed second-generation AI inference accelerator, 'RNGD (Renegade).'
FuriosaAI announced on the 11th that it has established its Singapore local branch, 'FuriosaAI Singapore Pte. Ltd.' The Singapore entity will operate as a core hub responsible for business development, sales, and technical support across the APAC region.
Based in Singapore, FuriosaAI plans to expand collaborations with enterprises, governments, cloud service providers, and infrastructure partners throughout the entire APAC region, including Southeast Asia. The company will also continuously recruit local talent to build a system capable of supporting customers from initial technology validation to actual commercial deployment.
The Singapore branch is led by Addison Chi, Vice President of APAC Sales. FuriosaAI currently maintains overseas hubs in Seoul headquarters, Silicon Valley in the United States, and Lisbon, Portugal. With this new Singapore establishment, the company has added a business hub in Asia.
The key product driving APAC expansion is RNGD, which began operations in Yangsan last January. RNGD is an AI accelerator for data centers specialized in inference tasks for generative AI models such as large language models (LLMs), multimodal models, and agentic AI.
The 'NXT RNGD' server, equipped with eight RNGD cards, operates on approximately 3kW of power and can be deployed using air-cooling methods. According to the company, this allows existing data centers to expand their AI inference processing capacity without requiring separate liquid cooling infrastructure typically needed for high-power GPU systems.
RNGD is currently being adopted by Samsung SDS and LG AI Research Institute for commercial services. FuriosaAI is also expanding its customer base and infrastructure partners not only in Asia but also in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
