Doosan FuelCell said Tuesday that it has signed a supply contract worth 322.2 billion won for phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC) with HyAxiom, a U.S. subsidiary of Doosan Corporation.
This follows an earlier contract worth 501.4 billion won signed at the beginning of this month, marking a re-ordering just two weeks later. The cumulative contract value between the two companies now reaches 823.6 billion won.
The products secured in this order will be supplied sequentially to North America through HyAxiom starting in 2028. HyAxiom will provide engineering, commissioning, long-term maintenance and service (LTSA), and other support for these products.
This additional order reflects the growing demand for power from artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, leading to an expansion of on-site power solutions where facilities are installed near data centers, ultimately resulting in actual orders. Fuel cells have emerged as a representative on-site power source due to their short installation period and modular structure that allows for phased capacity expansion.
In the past month alone, Doosan FuelCell has secured overseas orders totaling approximately 930 billion won, including a 108.7 billion won supply contract for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stacks signed with Reverion GmbH in Germany last August. Including domestic main equipment supply contracts, the cumulative order value for this year reaches approximately 1.11 trillion won.
A Doosan FuelCell official said, "This additional order is a result of our product competitiveness and supply responsiveness being recognized in the U.S. market."
