Samsung Electronics held the 'Samsung AI (Artificial Intelligence) Forum' to discuss ways to integrate AI technology into products and semiconductor manufacturing sites. The strategy aims to enhance product competitiveness and operational efficiency through AI that delivers tangible results.
On the 30th, Samsung Electronics hosted the 'Samsung AI Forum 2026' at its Seocho headquarters in Seoul's Seocho-gu district, where world-renowned experts and industry professionals in the field of AI gathered to share the latest research outcomes and application cases. Approximately 400 attendees participated, including 100 professors and researchers from domestic AI graduate schools and 300 Samsung Electronics employees in the AI division.
Now in its 10th year, this forum was held under the theme 'The Agentic Shift: From Intelligence to Impact.' Discussions focused on how to connect AI technologies, such as agentic AI and physical AI, with actual work and outcomes.
In his welcome address, Chung Eui-sun, Vice Chairman and Representative Director of Samsung Electronics, stated, "Agentic AI will bring about a fundamental change in the way we work and organizational culture, going beyond mere technological innovation." He added, "Together with global AI leaders, we will explore the direction we should take and drive practical AI technological innovation."
The morning session featured keynote speeches by global big tech experts and AI scholars. Richard Ho, Vice President of Hardware at OpenAI, introduced the changes that agentic AI, which autonomously makes decisions based on large language models (LLMs), will bring to companies and industries as a whole.
Following this, David Green, an AI technology leader for AWS (Amazon Web Services) in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, presented security and governance strategies for safely and economically implementing agentic AI in enterprise environments.
Ranjeet Krishna, a prominent researcher in the field of physical AI and professor at Washington University, proposed a new paradigm that overcomes the reasoning limitations of vision-language models and enables high-performance robotics AI even with small models. Kim Yun-hyung, Senior Executive Officer at Samsung Research (Concurrent Professor at MIT) and a researcher in generative AI and language models, introduced innovation plans for next-generation 'agentic intelligence' architectures aimed at enhancing the capabilities of AI agents and expanding their scope of application.
In the afternoon, sessions were divided into two tracks: 'AI Technology' from the DX (Device Experience) division and 'AX (AI Transformation) Innovation' from the DS (Device Solutions) division, revealing AI technologies developed by Samsung Electronics and currently applied in actual business operations.
The DX division's presentations centered on efficient AI, physical AI, and continuous learning. They introduced cases of applying device optimization technology and on-device AI platforms to products. Additionally, they shared the potential of world models that predict and simulate the real world, as well as robot-based models. Self-evolving AI technology, which improves its performance autonomously based on actual user experience, was also unveiled.
The DS division featured presentations on AI directly applied to semiconductor business operations and AI transformation cases from global partners. Global partners such as Dell Technologies and Anthropic shared methods for applying trustworthy AI agents to work, as well as approaches and case studies for building enterprise AI factories. Furthermore, the DS division introduced best practices in design and manufacturing innovation resulting from the application of AI across all semiconductor operations.
