HD Hyundai will participate in 'Smart Energy Plus (SEP) 2026' to unveil future power grid solutions ranging from eco-friendly ultra-high voltage power equipment to direct current (DC) distribution and energy storage systems (ESS). Hosted by the National Assembly Hydrogen Economy Forum and co-organized by Money Today and COEX, 'SEP 2026' will be held at Hall B of COEX in Seoul Samsung-dong from the 28th to the 30th.
HD Hyundai Electric will set up its booth under the theme "Transforming Power, Connecting the Future." First, in the eco-friendly power equipment sector, it will exhibit a lineup of SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride)-free gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). This product line does not use sulfur hexafluoride gas, and the 420kV-class eco-friendly GIS is the first developed in Korea and the third in the world. It is evaluated as showcasing HD Hyundai Electric's technological capabilities accumulated in the field of ultra-high voltage eco-friendly power equipment.
It will also exhibit major power equipment such as phase-shifting transformers (PST), which control power flow to improve transmission grid operation efficiency, and explosion-proof transformers (DPRS) with enhanced safety. In the distribution sector, it will display DC distribution solutions, whose utilization is expanding centered on data centers and renewable energy. Through key products such as DC air circuit breakers (ACB), molded case circuit breakers (MCCB), miniature circuit breakers (MCB), surge protective devices (SPD), and digital power meters, it will demonstrate technologies supporting the stable operation of DC power systems.

It will also introduce the Cheongju Distribution Campus in Chungcheongbuk-do, a production hub for distribution equipment that began operations last year. This campus is characterized by its high production efficiency and stable supply system based on automated facilities and digital production systems.
In the ESS sector, HD Hyundai Electric will showcase core equipment such as power conversion systems (PCS) and system integration (SI) technologies, along with actual project execution experience. In particular, through a case study of the BESS (battery energy storage system) project in Sinan, South Jeonnam-do, it plans to publicize its capabilities acquired throughout the entire ESS project process, from design to construction and grid interconnection.
An official from HD Hyundai Electric said, "At this exhibition, we plan to present various products and solutions for the future power grid, ranging from eco-friendly power equipment to DC distribution and ESS." The official added, "Based on our technological capabilities and business experience accumulated in the transmission and distribution sectors, we will actively respond to the demand for power infrastructure driven by the expansion of data centers and renewable energy."
This year's SEP 2026 will be held under the themes of "Energy Transformation in the AI Era" and "Energy Security Amid Rapidly Changing International Conditions." In addition to HD Hyundai Electric, companies such as LG Group, Doosan Enerbility, Hyundai Rotem, and Unison will set up booths to introduce energy security strategies for the AI era. Hyundai Motor, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and Polestar will reveal strategies related to electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Institutional investors, including the Army, Seoul City, and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, will also operate booths.
