In contrast, Samsung Electro-Mechanics fell by over 3%, and Samsung Biologics declined by over 1%. Samsung C&T and SK Square showed roughly flat performance.
By sector, KOSPI insurance stocks surged by over 4%, construction and gas & electricity rose by over 3%, transportation equipment, transportation warehouses, machinery, and metals gained by over 2%, while finance, general services, and non-ferrous metals advanced by over 1%. Chemicals, retail, and securities showed roughly flat gains.
Textiles and apparel, telecommunications, medical precision, and IT services declined by over 1%. Pharmaceuticals, electrical & electronics, food & tobacco, real estate, paper & wood, manufacturing, and entertainment & culture closed with roughly flat performance.
The KOSDAQ index ended the session at 790.21, down 13.77 points (1.71%) from the previous day. Individuals net-purchased 340.3 billion won, institutional investors net-sold 197.4 billion won, and foreign investors net-sold 132 billion won.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, IOTech was up by over 3%, while EcoPro BM closed with roughly flat performance.
In contrast, AlteoGen fell by over 5%, Simtek and Wonik IPS declined by over 4%, Juseong Engineering dropped by over 3%, and HLB slipped by over 1%. Rino Industrial showed roughly flat performance, while Rainbow Robotics closed flat.
By sector, KOSDAQ transportation warehouses surged by over 2%, while metals and paper & wood showed roughly flat gains.
Conversely, general services fell by over 3%, pharmaceuticals declined by over 2%, and IT services, electrical & electronics, manufacturing, chemicals, machinery, medical precision, non-ferrous metals, textiles and apparel, retail, and publishing houses dropped by over 1%.
Telecommunications, construction, finance, other manufacturing, food & tobacco, transportation equipment, and entertainment & culture closed with roughly flat performance.
