The government is establishing an integrated support system that connects AI platform service development, field validation, and startup initiatives. Through the 'Everyone's AI Growth Ladder Project,' which enables anyone to learn AI and develop their own services, the plan is to expand the base of AI utilization nationwide.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Science and ICT held an inauguration ceremony for the 'Everyone's AI Growth Ladder Project' at the National Gwangju Science Museum and announced the official opening of 'Everyone's AI Learning Center, Laboratory, and Lounge.'
Attending the launch ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Bae Keong-hun; Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City National Assembly members Jung Jun-ho, Im Moon-young, and Jo In-cheol; Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City Safety and Livelihood Vice Mayor Ko Kwang-wan; Kim Hyung-cheol, President of the Korea Intelligence Defense Command Promotion Agency; Lee (President); representatives from Everyone's AI Learning Center, Laboratory, and Lounge; as well as local students and youth who attended to celebrate the opening and inspect educational facilities.
This project is characterized by integrating previously separately operated AI education, development, and validation infrastructure into a single system, in line with the government's 'AI for Daily Life' policy and recommendations from the National Artificial Intelligence Action Plan. The goal is to establish a step-by-step support system that allows citizens to learn AI, develop their own services, and proceed to commercialization.
First, 'Everyone's AI Learning Center' is an online education portal that provides both public and private AI educational content in one place. It is accessible to everyone from elementary, middle, and high school students to university students, youth, and the general public. A generative AI-based chatbot recommends educational courses tailored to learners' proficiency levels and areas of interest. Currently, it is linked with government education platforms such as EBS Isop, K-MOOC, STEP, AI Digital Learning Center, and Small Business Knowledge Learning Center, and will gradually expand to include private education platforms starting this month. Features for login-based learning history management and personalized educational recommendations are also planned for addition.
'Everyone's AI Laboratory' is an online development platform where users can directly develop AI services. Users receive support including a natural language-based vibe coding environment, tokens for subscribing to generative AI models, private cloud resources, and AI development tools. Additionally, they can utilize 99,000 public and private data sets and 13,000 APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), along with development consulting from a specialized technical support center. The government also plans to operate an AI idea community and a development achievement sharing bulletin board in the future to foster a participatory development ecosystem.
Offline hubs called 'Everyone's AI Lounge' will also begin full-scale operations. This year, they will be established across five regions nationwide: Seoul Capital Area, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla·Jeju. 'AI Sherpas,' who are AI experts, will support service development and field validation. In particular, outstanding development teams identified through Everyone's AI Laboratory and AI Lounges will receive consulting in legal, marketing, and technical fields, as well as commercialization support, to facilitate youth entrepreneurship.
Minister of Science and ICT Bae Keong-hun stated, "Amid a major transformation brought about by AI across all aspects of life, the ability to utilize AI is a new basic competency that everyone must possess and a core element of national competitiveness." He added, "Through Everyone's AI Growth Ladder, we will build a virtuous cycle infrastructure that connects learning to development, field validation, and the creation of new value."
