On the 1st, SK Telecom announced it is launching a free subscription promotion for 'YouTube Premium Light' to commemorate its self-contained communication service 'Air (air)' surpassing 200,000 members.
This promotion runs from today until February 28, 2027, offering six months of free YouTube Premium Light to new subscribers of the 'Air X' plan through the official Air app and website. Subscribers will receive one year of free access to YouTube Premium Light after activation.
'Air X' is a flat-rate unlimited data plan priced at 58,000 won per month. During this promotion period, new subscribers can enjoy one year of free YouTube Premium Light benefits along with bonus pack points. These points can be used to pay bills or purchase over 1,000 products in the Air app's point shop.
Notably, 'Air X' subscribers can pay their full monthly fees using points until December. With maximum benefits applied, customers are expected to enjoy an unlimited data plan including YouTube Premium Light at a reduced effective cost of around 10,000 won per month.
Previously, SKT has continuously worked to enhance the utility of Air's points so that customers can use them more effectively. In June, it expanded the limit for point-based bill payments. Previously, customers could pay up to 5,000 won per month using points; now, points earned through ad-based missions can be used even beyond the payment limit.
Subsequently, from August to December, SKT significantly increased the point payment limit for Air bills to alleviate customer financial burdens. For the 'Air X' plan, 100% of the monthly fee can be paid using points, while the other five plans allow up to 50% of the monthly fee to be covered by points. Following the implementation of this benefit, data showed that customers used more than five times the amount of points for bill payments in August compared to the previous month.
Additionally, SKT is running an event until September 30 offering a full waiver of eSIM issuance fees for new Air plan subscribers.
Meanwhile, recently, Air was recognized for its service excellence by winning the Grand Prix in the Brand & Communication Design category at the prestigious 'Red Dot Design Award 2026'.
Koo Hyun-cheol, SKT Sales&Ma Ke-ting (Head), stated, "Air has been designed with users as the top priority from the planning stage, and since its launch, we have actively incorporated customer feedback to expand services and benefits. We will continue striving to become a communication brand that adds convenience and joy to customers' daily lives."
