LG CNS said Monday that it is in discussions with Indonesia's National Tax Service to enhance its next-generation tax administration system, "CoreTax," by integrating artificial intelligence.

CoreTax is a system that integrates fragmented tax-related tasks — from taxpayer registration and filing to payment, refunds, tax audits, and collection — into a single platform. LG CNS completed the system's construction in December 2024 as part of a consortium with Austrian IT company Qualisoft.

LG CNS supported the system's operation and stabilization until March this year. Starting in April, when Indonesia's National Tax Service took over operations, LG CNS has been carrying out maintenance work on core infrastructure such as databases. The company plans to further improve tax administration efficiency and taxpayer convenience by adding AI-based task automation and data analysis capabilities in the future.

Recognizing its contributions to the construction and operational support of CoreTax, LG CNS received a letter of appreciation from Indonesia's National Tax Service in Jakarta on Friday. The event was attended by Kim Hong-geun, head of LG CNS’s Digital Business Division, and Bima Wijayanto, director-general of Indonesia's National Tax Service, among others.

For over two decades, LG CNS has carried out e-government projects for public institutions in Indonesia, including the National Police Agency and the Ministry of Finance. Since last year, it has also been advancing a project to build Jakarta's AI data center infrastructure with a budget of 100 billion won.

Kim said, "We will continue our cooperation to contribute to digital government innovation in Indonesia by leveraging our accumulated digital transformation capabilities and AI technologies."
