Chinese robotics company Unitree showcased a humanoid robot capable of smashing cars and rescuing people in peril. Through a demonstration video recreating security and rescue scenarios, the company emphasized the robot's powerful strength and agile movements.
According to industry sources on the 22nd, Unitree unveiled the humanoid robot 'H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian,' which performs such actions, via its official social networking service (SNS) the previous day.

In the early part of the video, H2-X climbs onto a car roof and performs a backflip before landing. It then dents a car door and shatters the window with knee strikes, elbow strikes, and kicks. The robot also demonstrated jumping down from a structure approximately 4 meters high.
A notable scene shows the robot protecting a person. When an intruder wielding a weapon approaches a woman, H2-X blocks the path and subdues the attacker. In a situation where a person is trapped under a car, the robot lifts the front of the vehicle to assist in the rescue. The video also features a scene where the robot pushes a person out of the way of an oncoming vehicle, taking the impact itself.

The specific specifications of the H2-X revealed by Unitree are limited. The company only disclosed that the robot can maintain a standing state for approximately 8 hours after charging. Battery life during combat or rescue maneuvers has not been made public.
The existing model, H2, is a humanoid robot approximately 180 cm tall and can be equipped with NVIDIA's AI computing module 'Jetson AGX Thor' as an optional feature. The price starts at $29,900 (approximately 43 million won). The price and launch schedule for the H2-X have not yet been announced.

Unitree has previously showcased various humanoid robots, demonstrating high-difficulty movements such as walking, running, and combat. This time, the difference lies in prominently featuring scenes of protecting people or responding to dangerous situations.
This video shows the possibility that the scope of application for humanoid robots will expand beyond factory work and performances to include security and disaster rescue. In particular, it is notable for simultaneously emphasizing the strength to lift a car and the balance control ability to perform backflips. However, whether it can replace actual bodyguards or rescue team members remains unknown. It has also not been verified whether it can accurately assess risks in unexpected situations and safely protect people.
