Hancom said Friday that its AI agent Nomadian drew strong interest from institutional investors during investor meetings in New York and Chicago this month.
Hancom CEO Kim Yeon-su and Chief Technology Officer Jung Ji-hwan, along with other executives, visited the two cities to hold one-on-one meetings with local institutional investors and demonstrate Nomadian in person.
Local institutional investors compared Nomadian side-by-side with Meta's AI agent 'Muse.' Meta released the small business-oriented AI agent 'Muse for Small Business' last September.
Local investors directly benchmarked the service of a Korean company on the verge of launch against Meta's. This means Nomadian was perceived as a service capable of competing with big tech companies.
The approach differs. Muse assists with marketing and operations alongside agent Ha Na-ga (President). Nomadian forms AI teams by role, such as sales, marketing, and research, allowing business owners to run their company by managing this team. Essentially, work units are divided not by people, but by roles and responsibilities.
Investors also showed high interest in the collaboration with AWS. Through 'Hancom × AWS CoLab,' Hancom is developing Nomadian's product and commercialization strategy together with AWS. It is also pushing for listing on the AWS Marketplace. This means entering the U.S. market by partnering with the world's leading cloud provider.
The initial target is small businesses with fewer than 10 employees and solo entrepreneurs in the U.S. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were as many as 31.99 million businesses operated without employees last year.
Hancom has identified 5.21 million one-person and small businesses in the U.S. that already use AI or pay for it as its primary target. It will begin commercialization in earnest with a beta release in December this year, followed by an official launch next year.
Development and investment will also focus on Nomadian. During the beta period, Hancom will immediately reflect U.S. user feedback into the product to enhance its quality. It plans to continue development and investment in the agent and document technologies that support Nomadian.
A specific blueprint will be revealed next week. Hancom will hold a press conference titled 'Nomadian Day' at Hancom Tower next week to announce NDR results, Nomadian's development status, and its U.S. market entry strategy.
Hancom's CEO Kim said, "As a Korean company, presenting an innovative service on the global stage comes with a heavy sense of responsibility," adding, "We will prove through Nomadian that the technology and services we create are effective in the global market."
