Singer Bobby Kim (53, real name Robert Do-gyun Kim) stated that he has not used the airline in question since a past in-flight disturbance incident.
On the 4th, Bobby Kim appeared on broadcaster Tak Jae-hoon's YouTube channel and engaged in conversation.
From the moment he appeared, Bobby Kim repeatedly checked, "Is this my seat?" and "Are you sure?", eliciting laughter. Tak Jae-hoon said, "I heard that Mr. Bobby Kim has developed a seat-related trauma and always double-checks whether it is a senior citizen seat or his own seat even when riding a bus."
In response, Bobby Kim nodded and said, "I check very sensitively. I have PTSD, a trauma." While expressing regret, Tak Jae-hoon asked, "You need to overcome it. Wasn't it an incident that arose from a misunderstanding?" and "Do you fly with Korean Air when taking a plane?"
Bobby Kim then calmly said, "I still haven't flown with Korean Air," adding, "But I plan to in the future." However, he drew a clear line against some rumors that had surfaced at the time, such as him tearing off airplane seats, stating they were not true, which added to the laughter.
Bobby Kim was sentenced to a fine on charges including shouting while intoxicated inside a Korean Air passenger plane bound for San Francisco, USA, in January 2015, and subsequently kept a low profile for a period.
However, it later came to light that the airline had mistakenly provided Bobby Kim with an economy class boarding pass belonging to another person with the same name instead of the business class seat he had booked, sparking controversy.
