Webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 (42, real name Kim Hee-min) spoke out regarding the recent hygiene controversy.
On the 5th, on his YouTube channel, Kian84 mentioned the hygiene controversy that surfaced in Season 2 of Netflix’s variety show "Kian’s Bizarre B&B," which aired last month.
Before preparing to welcome guests, Kian84 explained before showering, "I’ve been getting a lot of criticism lately for not changing my underwear, but I’m actually not that dirty."
He stated, "I use a filtered faucet even when showering and washing my face at home," while showing himself scrubbing every corner thoroughly and lathering his hair with shampoo foam so thick he could barely open his eyes.
Previously, in Season 2 of "Kian’s Bizarre B&B," released last month, Kian84 was seen not changing his underwear for more than three days, drawing complaints from viewers.
When former volleyball player Kim Yeon-kyung, who appeared on the show with him, asked, "Don’t you maintain cleanliness in the military? Did they teach you wrong there?" Kian84 replied, "They kept telling me to wash back then, so when I came into society, I didn’t want to wash. I developed a resistance because of officers like you."
After the broadcast aired, viewers pointed out that since the program involves hosting guests, hygiene management should be given even more attention. Netizens reacted with comments such as, "I turned it off because it was disgusting," and "If I stayed there, I think I’d get sick."
