Shin Dong-wook (48) of the group Goopee shared an update on his life since leaving the entertainment industry, revealing that he has taken up work at a pig farm.
On the 6th, a video was released on the YouTube channel 'AL After' featuring Shin Dong-wook and Park Sung-ho of Goopee in conversation with Seong Dae-hyun and Lee Seong-uk of the group r.ef.
In the video, Park Sung-ho said, "Dong-wook has been out of touch for three years."
Shin Dong-wook responded, "It wasn't that I was hiding; a lot happened over the past few years. First off, I had been abroad for a while," and confessed that he had run a business in Cebu, Philippines.
Shin Dong-wook revealed that he had operated various businesses after halting his activities in the entertainment industry.

Shin Dong-wook said he had run an advertising production company in Korea, adding, "While running the ad production, I also shot music videos and such."
He continued, "When people keep doing the same thing over and over, something eventually comes to you. I wanted to try something new once. While looking for work related to my background, I got absorbed in video content and ended up working in that field," explaining what led him to challenge himself in a new area.
In response, Seong Dae-hyun asked, "Did things go wrong there, which is why you went to Cebu?" Shin Dong-wook replied, "It wasn't that things went wrong. It was going well, but after about four years, the same feeling came back. I really wanted to try something new, so I started doing business."
While expressing satisfaction with his life in the Philippines, Shin Dong-wook admitted that his business venture had failed.
He said, "If the business I was trying to run had gone well, it would have been more of a healing experience, but instead, I ended up in the red there."

Shin Dong-wook, who returned to Korea after his business failure, subsequently embarked on a new challenge.
He said, "I came back to Korea without much of a plan. Since I had to make a living, I asked a chairman I knew, 'Chairman, I want to work at your company.'"
He continued, "So, in December last year, I went to a pig farm in Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do Province. It is one of the largest swine farms in South Korea, covering 60,000 pyeong and currently housing 18,000 pigs."
Hearing this, Seong Dae-hyun remarked, "You must have gone through a lot while I wasn't watching," adding, "I imagine you missed the entertainment industry."
In response, Shin Dong-wook confessed, "(Regarding the) entertainment industry, since I haven't met anyone in that circle at all, I didn't really think about it. But after talking to Sung-ho and meeting up with him, I felt something stirring inside me."
