Chef Jo Seo-hyung, known as the 'Business Genius Jo (President)' after appearing on the Netflix series 'Black and White: Cooking Class War', is taking legal action against a former employee he fired.
On the 28th, Jo Seo-hyung posted a message on his social media account starting with "I am asking for help."
He stated that he fired a former employee who had worked there for one month after the individual committed workplace harassment and sexual harassment against other employees. He added that the former employee subsequently filed a relief application worth 20 million won against the company.
Jo Seo-hyung wrote, "I found out he was a habitual offender, and since this person seems to know nothing about the world, I plan to file a lawsuit." He also noted, "Despite being in business for 10 years and having more than 100 former employees, there has never been a single issue raised with the Labor Commission."
He continued, "The Labor Commission suggested settling for half of that amount without any particular reason, but out of a desire to ensure this never happens again, I decided to spend some money and try it once," while receiving a recommendation from an employment law attorney, he announced his intention to take legal action.
However, the former employee's side has not yet been confirmed regarding their stance on the matter.
Chef Jo Seo-hyung gained recognition through the Netflix series 'Black and White: Cooking Class War' and is currently appearing on tvN's variety show 'Street Restaurant Fighter'.
