Singer Seo In-young (42), former member of the group Jewelry, disclosed a story about being barred from appearing on music shows in the past due to her provocative pubic bone fashion.
In the second episode of the E Channel variety show "Seo In-young's Trendy Oldie," broadcast on the 8th, Seo In-young engaged in various conversations with broadcaster Pung Ja and YouTuber Mimi Minu on the topic of dieting.
Upon seeing her past photos displayed on a monitor, Seo In-young reacted by saying, "What is that? I hate this monitor. Why are they hanging my old photos so prominently?" She then recalled, "I was in my early 20s, and it was an event at a club where I invited reporters to introduce my first album."
Seo In-young had drawn attention for her provocative stage costume during the promotion of "I Want You" in 2007. When Mimi Minu referred to it as "pubic bone fashion," Seo In-young added, "Because of that outfit, I was suspended from KBS. I couldn't appear on music shows. They said that outfit was not acceptable."
During the broadcast, a criterion was introduced stating that if the number obtained by subtracting weight from height is 120 or more, one is considered "skinny to the bone" (literally "bone withered"). Seo In-young revealed, "My height is 156 cm, and I have gone down to 38 kg. Even then, I became a topic of discussion with headlines like 'Seo In-young's recent status with sunken cheeks,' which was strange."
She continued, "While going through my divorce, I ate soju, sundae (Korean blood sausage), and gopchang bokkeum (stir-fried intestines), then went straight to bed. When I woke up again and ate more, I gained weight back. I didn't realize there were so many delicious things in the world. Dieting is a lifelong major task," which elicited laughter.
