AKMU's Lee Su-hyun has clarified her remarks after facing criticism for allegedly giving a harsh review of the viral dessert Hanjeongseon.
Lee appeared in a video released on Oct. 24 on the YouTube channel "Meong Coach," where she discussed her recent review of the dessert that has attracted widespread attention.
Earlier, Lee posted a video on her own YouTube channel showing herself trying Hanjeongseon rice cake. Before tasting it, she said, "I've really wanted to try this." After taking a bite, she gave her honest opinion, saying, "It's tasty, but I'm not sure it's worth waiting in line for three hours. It wasn't that special. Maybe it's because I don't like desserts."
Her comments subsequently went viral online. Her candid assessment of the popular dessert drew attention, with some viewers interpreting it as a harsh review.

Lee also expressed regret that her remarks had been perceived as overly critical. "That wasn't what I meant, so I felt upset," she said, adding, "I'm sorry, Hanjeongseon. That's not what I meant." / Screenshot from YouTube channel "Meong Coach"
Lee directly addressed the controversy in the "Meong Coach" video. "My fans all know that I don't really like sweets. I don't particularly like rice cakes, either," she said, explaining her usual taste preferences.
"Even so, I wanted to try it. When I did, I found it tasty. It just wasn't an entirely new or extraordinary flavor," she added. Lee also said that the staff members who shared the dessert with her had enjoyed it.
