Singer Younha notified her agency, with whom she had worked for 14 years, of the termination of their exclusive contract and filed a lawsuit, claiming she had not received settlement payments.
Law firm Ilro, which represents Younha, said on Monday, "We requested rectification due to the long-standing issue of unpaid settlement amounts, but as it was not carried out, we notified the termination of the exclusive contract in September 2026."
Younha's side claimed, "The agency also acknowledged through an official document that the effect of the termination took place on the 14th of last month."
It is reported that Younha filed a lawsuit seeking payment for approximately 950 million won in unpaid settlement amounts.
Her side said, "We plan to calmly resolve the remaining issues within the procedures established by law," adding, "Younha will continue her musical activities going forward." They further clarified, "Other artists and employees under C9 Entertainment are unrelated to this matter."
Younha first formed a bond with C9 Entertainment in 2012 and continued their partnership for 14 years through two contract renewals.
After debuting in Japan in 2004, Younha began her activities in Korea in 2006 and gained national love through numerous songs such as 'Password 486,' 'Umbrella,' and 'Event Horizon.'
