Broadcaster Jung Hyeong-don disclosed his investment stake in the tonkatsu restaurant he recently opened.
On the 27th, a video was released on Jung Joon-ha’s YouTube channel showing Jung Joon-ha and Park Myung-soo visiting Jung Hyeong-don’s restaurant and having a conversation.
In the video, Jung Joon-ha asked Jung Hyeong-don, “How did you get started?” and Jung Hyeong-don replied, “You’re also in business, and Myung-soo hyung owns real estate, right?”
Park Myung-soo asked, “It’s not being done with your own money, is it? Aren’t you just a face for the shop?”
In response, Jung Hyeong-don refuted this by saying, “No. I put in a 25% stake. That’s why I’m working so hard.”
Park Myung-soo asked again, “Is that all you did? Then isn’t the person who paid 75% the owner?” and Jung Hyeong-don explained, “We each hold 50%, 25%, and 25%.”
Park Myung-soo and Jung Joon-ha expressed their intention to “evaluate it as it is,” and after eating the tonkatsu, they exclaimed, “It’s delicious.”
Jung Hyeong-don entered the tonkatsu business in 2011 by launching a tonkatsu product bearing his name. The product gained attention, selling out in just 14 minutes during its first home shopping broadcast.
However, in 2013, the manufacturer’s representative and others were indicted without detention on charges of falsely labeling the pork loin content and received a fine sentence.
After that, Jung Hyeong-don announced in April last month, 13 years later, that he would sell tonkatsu again, and recently opened a store in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
