Seo In-young, who was called to school for wearing makeup as a middle schooler: "It was hard not being able to see my biological mother"

Singer Seo In-young shed tears while recalling her childhood.

On the 28th, a video was released on the YouTube channel 'Gwagacheonsun Seo In-young,' showing Seo In-young embarking on a trip to Japan with her mother and younger sister.

In the video, Seo In-young's mother said, "I was young back then too, and it was my first time raising a child," adding, "Because I grew up in a broken family, I was afraid you would point fingers at me, so all I had was the desire to raise you as correctly as possible."

She then recalled Seo In-young's school days. Her mother said, "When we moved to Busan during middle school, she transferred from Seoul and looked pretty, so I think they assumed she was a good student," noting that the school had high expectations for Seo In-young's grades, but her performance was poor from the very first exam.

She also revealed that she had been called to school twice over Seo In-young's makeup issue, stating, "I felt like parents were treated based on their children's academic rankings, which hurt my pride."

Seo In-young's younger sister said about her mother, "I have really liked Mom since the first time I saw her," and Seo In-young chimed in, "I don't think I can have a child. I don't think I could raise one like Mom does."

Seo In-young confessed that her feelings toward her mother were complicated during her adolescence.

Seo In-young said, "It felt like not being able to see my biological mother was due to Dad and Mom," adding, "I knew Mom was making an effort, so I couldn't hate her. I wondered why I was born, and I hated everything in the world. There was a time I stayed at an arcade near our house and came home in the early morning." Her mother and younger sister reportedly searched for Seo In-young all night during that incident.

Hearing this, her mother became emotional and said, "At first, my mother-in-law said we should not let (the children) see their biological mother until they reached adulthood," explaining, "I was worried they might become unstable during their growth process." She continued, "Even when I was 20, I missed my parents. How could a child at that age not miss them? I said we should show her to us at least once a month."

Seo In-young shed tears and said, "(Not being able to see my biological mother) was a wound."

She then added, "I have never expressed my affection to Mom," conveying her sincerity by saying, "I respect her as a woman."

Her mother said, "When you told me that I am the person you respect most, it made me so happy and moved," and she shed tears.
