Lee Jae-ah, the daughter of former national team soccer player Lee Dong-gook, is set to appear on a dating reality program. Lee Dong-gook, who will be watching his daughter's romance unfold, expressed concern while also showing the side of a reliable father.
On Monday, the production team for 'When Our Kids Fall in Love Season 3,' a variety show co-produced by tvN STORY and E Channel, released an official teaser featuring Lee Jae-ah ahead of her appearance on the dating program. The video included pre-interviews with Lee, who is about to join the dating show, her father Lee Dong-gook, and her twin sister Lee Jae-si.
Lee Dong-gook said, "I am not confident about watching my daughter's romance. It feels awkward and embarrassing to see a side of my daughter that is different from how she is at home."
Nevertheless, he showed the demeanor of a dependable father by stating that he would immediately go pick her up if Lee Jae-ah were to shed tears due to romance.
In response, ae-ah joked, "It seems like dad will be waiting with a telescope." Lee Dong-gook also quipped back, "Can't I join the program as an administrator?" drawing laughter.
Despite her father's worries, Jae-ah revealed her determination to approach romance seriously. She expressed her wish to meet someone at age 20 and date for a long time before getting married, just like her parents. In particular, she said that both the month her parents first met and the period of the program's residential stay are August, jokingly asking, "Aren't I getting married?"
Twin sister Lee Jae-si worried that her younger sister might lose track of her own feelings by being overly considerate of her partner. She added, "If there is someone who cannot recognize Jae-ah's charm, it is simply their choice," and encouraged her by saying, "Even if I were a man, I would have dated you."
The Lee Dong-gook family became known to the public through their appearance on KBS 2TV variety show 'The Return of Superman.' Born in 2007, Jae-ah was active as a tennis player from a young age but ended her athletic career due to injuries, including knee surgery in 2023. Subsequently, her mother, Lee Soo-jin, announced that Lee Jae-ah would switch to becoming a golf player.
