Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage revealed that he is "currently in a state of homelessness."
On Wednesday (local time), NBC News reported that Nicolas Cage said he was "in a situation without a home" while sharing his recent status on stage at Comic-Con held in Los Angeles, USA, on the 31st of last month.
At the time, Cage stated that part of his residence located in Southern California had been swallowed by a sinkhole, saying, "Something happened to my house, and I am living from hotel to hotel."
Cage purchased a beachfront mansion in Malibu for $10.5 million (approximately 14 billion won) in 2024. A large sinkhole occurred at the mansion in September when part of the access road collapsed.
The sinkhole was measured to be approximately 7.6 to 9 meters deep, about 9 meters wide, and roughly 18 meters long. It is speculated that the cause of the sinkhole was coastal erosion due to high waves and tides.
At the time, the City of Malibu declared a state of emergency and issued entry and residence bans for seven homes surrounding the sinkhole. The same measures were taken for 24 homes that could no longer use their vehicle access roads, and gas supply was cut off in the area.
The authorities announced that they would complete restoration work later, but it has not yet been confirmed when Cage will be able to return to his residence.
Cage played the lead character Ben Riley in the Prime Video series "Spider-Noir," released this year.
