On the 11th, AI full-stack company Ellis Groupannounced that it was selected as a GPU (graphics processing unit) resource provider for the '2026 AI Research Computing Support Project' supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation Institute (IITP).
Founded in 2015, Ellis Group started with AI education solutions and has since expanded its business scope to include AI infrastructure, cloud services, and industry-specific AI solutions. It has secured high-performance GPU-based modular data centers and AI cloud virtualization solutions through its own technology.
This project, with a total budget of 15.3 billion won, aims to provide cloud-based high-performance GPU infrastructure and research environments so that domestic university and research institutional investors can conduct research and development on super-large AI models and generative AI.
In bidding for this project, Ellis Group presented an integrated promotion system covering the provision of high-performance computing resources, support for AI learning and development environments, and operational and technical support, based on its experience in performing similar projects such as large-scale national GPU leasing projects.
Ellis Group provides an end-to-end (End-to-End) AI cloud built with its own technology. It has prepared step-by-step solutions ranging from the modular AI data center 'AI PMDC' to cloud infrastructure virtualization 'ECI', AI development environment 'Runbox', data management 'DataHub', and model deployment 'ML API'.
This allows researchers to focus directly on AI model research without encountering issues related to infrastructure setup or compatibility, utilizing high-performance GPU resources immediately.
The supply period runs from July this year to March next year. Ellis Group will provide high-performance GPU resources required for super-large AI research while also supporting cluster configurations that connect multiple GPUs via high-speed networks.
Ellis Group's AI solutions have been adopted by over 13,000 institutional investors, including major corporations such as Samsung Group, SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group, and LG Group; universities like Seoul National University and KAIST; and government and public institutional investors. It is providing AI-specialized cloud services to approximately 8,000 startups, universities, and research institutions.
Kim Jae-won, CEO of Ellis Group, stated, "We will provide stable services so that domestic industry-academia-research researchers can focus on research and model development without spending time building AI infrastructure."
