LG Electronics announced on the 27th that it has been officially registered as a 'Preferred' partner in the 'Power and Cooling' sector of NVIDIA's 'NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN)'.
The NPN is a global partner program where companies across various fields, including hardware, software, services, and infrastructure, participate based on NVIDIA's AI (artificial intelligence) computing platform and technology ecosystem.
With this registration, LG Electronics will be able to broaden its access points for proposing high-efficiency cooling solutions to global customers building AI data centers based on NVIDIA technology. In particular, there is a higher likelihood that LG Electronics' chillers and cooling water distribution units (CDUs) will be considered from the early stages of planning and designing next-generation AI data centers.
Previously, LG Electronics became the first Korean company to meet NVIDIA's qualification requirements for 600kW (kilowatt) and 1MW (megawatt) CDUs, demonstrating its capabilities in AI data center cooling technology. The high-capacity 2.5MW CDU received NVIDIA factory standard approval and was officially recognized as an NVIDIA 'DSX Ready CDU' product.
LG Electronics has previously set a goal to expand into the hyperscaler market, which includes major cloud service providers, and the colocation market, which involves data center leasing operators, in addition to the North American market where more than 60% of global new data center expansion demand is concentrated.
Lee Jae-seong, President of LG Electronics' ES Business Division, emphasized that "the NPN registration is a meaningful achievement that proves to the global market that our thermal management technology offers the optimal solution for next-generation AI data center infrastructure."
