LG Chem announced on the 1st that it conducted generative AI (artificial intelligence) training for approximately 30 officers from the Army Headquarters at the LG Chem Leadership Center in Osan, Gyeonggi Province.
The training, held last month, was designed to enhance understanding of AI technology and strengthen capabilities for its application in work. Participants learned various practical use cases, including the basic concepts and utilization methods of generative AI, as well as automation of data collection, analysis, and visualization using AI. They also participated in hands-on exercises utilizing AI agents and image generation tools, directly experiencing ways to apply these technologies to actual work tasks.
For this training, LG Chem provided support for the leadership center's educational infrastructure, including instructors, a training venue, and lodging. Participants learned methods for improving productivity in administrative and planning tasks by utilizing various generative AI tools. They also examined the practical potential of AI technology for workplace application.
An LG Chem official stated, "As AI utilization capabilities have become an important element of organizational competitiveness, we hope this training will serve as an opportunity to broaden the foundation for AI use within the Army."
Meanwhile, since signing a 'One Company, One Barracks' sisterhood agreement with the 1st Corps of the Army in 2011, LG Chem has continued various exchange activities, including providing welfare supplies and sponsoring unit events. Recently, the company has sustained cooperation activities with the military, such as supporting soldier welfare, while striving to expand civil-military collaboration.
