POSCO Future M announced on the 6th that it has signed a long-term supply contract for battery materials with Samsung SDI for integrated supply of secondary battery materials. The new agreement adds an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cathode material contract worth 605.15 billion won to the existing NCA (nickel, cobalt, and aluminum) cathode material contract worth 1,519.64 billion won.
The two companies plan to expand their cooperation scope to include LMO (lithium manganese oxide) cathode materials and artificial graphite anode materials in the future. POSCO Future M is strengthening its response capability for the mid-to-low price market, having agreed last month to supply SK On with approximately 1 trillion won worth of LFP cathode materials.
