BMT, which manufactures piping components through which semiconductor process gases flow, has been approved as an official supplier by the world's No. 1 semiconductor equipment company. If Busan Plant 2 begins full-scale operations by year-end, production capacity will increase by 40%.
According to industry sources on the 22nd, BMT completed its supplier evaluation in the manufacturing of parts and devices for semiconductor equipment from Company A, the world's No. 1 semiconductor equipment company, and received final approval last September. With this approval, BMT plans to expand its product lineup from its core ultra-high purity (UHP) fittings and valves to gas systems.
UHP fittings and valves are connection components that deliver specialty gases used in semiconductor processes into equipment without impurities. Because fine particles or gas leaks can directly lead to wafer defects, equipment manufacturers select suppliers after lengthy evaluations. BMT expects this approval to be a turning point in expanding its business into the global semiconductor equipment market.
BMT has supplied major materials for new fab construction by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, and is supplying integrated gas systems (HGS) to major domestic semiconductor equipment companies. HGS is a semiconductor gas supply device that consolidates multiple gas components into one. It is evaluated as the leader in the domestic semiconductor fittings and valves sector, excluding foreign-owned companies.
BMT also participated in 'SEMICON WEST 2026,' the largest North American semiconductor exhibition held in San Francisco, USA, from the 13th to the 15th, showcasing its UHP products and technology to global semiconductor manufacturers and equipment companies.

BMT has also expanded its production base. The company completed construction of Plant 2 at its East Busan Campus in Jang'an-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, in early last month, and finished obtaining usage approval and factory registration. The site covers 20,800 square meters with a total floor area of 22,000 square meters, and includes a dormitory and an on-site daycare center. The investment cost was approximately 20 billion won.
BMT will increase its semiconductor parts production equipment and expand production capacity for cryogenic valves for LNG (liquefied natural gas) and fuel systems for ship engines. Full-scale operations are set to begin by year-end, once the installation of manufacturing equipment is complete.
BMT recently stated in an investor relations (IR) briefing that upon completion of Plant 2 equipment expansion, production capacity will grow from approximately 250 billion won based on Plant 1 to approximately 350 billion won.
Performance is also on the rise. BMT's consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year reached 48.6 billion won, a 23.9% increase compared to the same period last year. This marks the largest quarterly figure since the company's founding. Operating profit for the same period was 6.3 billion won, an 84.2% increase. This is the result of overlapping recovery in semiconductor capital investment and demand from the shipbuilding and marine engine sectors.
