Jung Jae-heon, CEO of SK Telecom, defined AIDC (Artificial Intelligence Data Centers) not merely as data storage facilities but as "export factories that produce intelligence and supply it to global markets," emphasizing the need for national-level AI infrastructure competitiveness.
Jeong (CEO) stated at the 'AIDC Alliance' launch ceremony held on the 29th at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, in his capacity as co-chairman: "If traditional data centers were warehouses storing information, AIDCs are export factories that produce intelligence and supply it to global markets."
He added, "AIDCs represent a comprehensive culmination of advanced technologies integrating servers, storage, cloud, software, power, and cooling technologies. Building hyperscale AI data centers will lead to the advancement of solution technologies and enhanced equipment competitiveness, creating opportunities for AI exports and industrialization."
Furthermore, he diagnosed that in the AI era, competition is no longer between individual companies but between nations. Jeong (CEO) remarked, "Competition in the AI era is not between single companies but between countries. While one can go fast alone, to go far, one must go together."
He continued, "The AIDC Alliance launched today marks the beginning of solidarity for Korea to leap further and larger. I am confident that its achievements will become an irreplaceable cornerstone of the Republic of Korea."
Jeong (CEO) concluded, "As co-chairman, SK Telecom will do its utmost to advance the AIDC Alliance. Let us move forward together toward the future of Korea and AI."
