SK Telecom announced on the 30th that it will significantly increase point benefits for new subscribers to its 'air' plan starting in August and expand membership perks. This initiative is part of the communication sector support measures agreed upon during a meeting between the Ministry of Science and ICT and CEOs of the three major telecommunications companies, aimed at stabilizing people's livelihoods.
This promotion was designed to reduce customers' communication costs while providing tangible benefits across daily life, including dining out, grocery shopping, cultural activities, and domestic and international travel.
Air Plan Subscription Points Expanded to 70% of Monthly Fee… Free eSIM for Online Subscriptions
From August 7 to 31, SKT will expand point benefits for new subscribers to the 'air' plan to approximately 70% of the monthly fee. These points will be provided for up to 12 months as long as customers maintain the air 5G plan.
SKT will also increase the limit on communication fees that existing air plan subscribers can pay using points through the end of the year. For the 'air X (5G)' unlimited data plan, starting August 7 and continuing until December 31, customers will be allowed to use all accumulated points toward fee payments. Additionally, the point payment limit for other air 5G plans will be expanded to up to 50% of the monthly fee.
For example, a customer who newly subscribes to the 'air X (5G)' plan (priced at 58,000 won) during the promotion period can receive 40,000 points as a subscription bonus. By completing missions such as step counting and balance games to earn an additional 8,000 points, and using all accumulated points for fee payments, the customer can enjoy unlimited data usage at approximately 10,000 won per month for 12 months after joining.

SKT is also running a promotion for new subscribers via online channels. From August 1 to September 30, SKT will waive eSIM issuance fees for customers who newly subscribe to the air plan through online platforms.
At T Direct Shops, from August 1 to September 30, download fees for eSIMs will be waived for customers who activate a line without purchasing a device. Through this initiative, SKT aims to reduce initial cost burdens for online subscribers and enhance the convenience of remote plan activation.
Happy Hour at Baekmidang and Shake Shack in August… T Membership Benefits Throughout the Month
T membership benefits are also being expanded. During the first week of August, alongside the existing 'T Day Week,' SKT will operate a 'Young Week' for customers aged 13 to 34. Additional benefits will be provided focusing on areas with high demand among young customers during summer vacation, including content services, convenience stores, dining out, and cultural activities.
Subsequently, from the second to fourth weeks of August, SKT will run 'T Day Brand Week.' Three partner companies—Tous Les Jours (second week), Domino's Pizza (third week), and 11th (fourth week)—will participate, offering successive generous discount benefits to T membership customers.
In addition, from the 3rd to 31, SKT will operate a 'Happy Hour' program for T membership VIP customers at Baekmidang and Shake Shack, providing special benefits during designated time slots when visiting these locations.

Through the 'Global Travel Vacation Promotion,' T membership overseas benefits for summer vacation travelers are also being strengthened. In August, 13 types of benefits covering restaurants, transportation, and tourist facilities will be offered in Bangkok, Nha Trang, and Guam. In September, 10 types of benefits including dining, transportation, and pharmacies will be available in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Osaka. The 'Global Travel Vacation Promotion' runs from August 1 to September 30.
Movie benefits aimed at supporting young customers' cultural activities are also being expanded. For customers aged 34 or younger who subscribe to the Best or Light plans, or those using the 0th Youth plan, SKT will increase the CGV 2D movie ticket discount from one per month to two per month for the entire month of August.
Meanwhile, SKT plans to continue improving wholesale rates to foster mutual growth with the MVNO industry and will jointly explore measures such as expanding business opportunities to promote co-development with the information and communications construction sector.
Koo Hyun-cheol, SKT Sales & Ma Ke-ting-bon (Director), stated, "In light of the summer vacation season and peak consumption period, we have prepared benefits that customers can genuinely experience in their daily lives, including dining out, grocery shopping, movies, and travel, beyond just communication costs. Moving forward, we will continue to expand customized benefits tailored to customers' ages, service usage patterns, and lifestyles, while also making sustained efforts toward the mutual development of the telecommunications ecosystem."
