#When Samsung Electronics's passport-style foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, is unfolded, it shows cracks identical to those on the iPhone Duo. Just as users suspected, "Could the Z Fold's screen have cracked due to the hinge?", they close the 'Gallery' app to reveal a perfectly intact screen. It was not an actual cracked screen, but rather a staged photo designed to appear as if a defect had occurred at the same location as on the Apple iPhone Duo.
On the 29th, it became a topic of discussion that Samsung Electronics' Saudi Arabian subsidiary posted a "meme" video on its official Instagram account that appeared to mock the screen defect in Apple's new foldable product, the "iPhone Duo."
The video, posted 16 hours ago, has recorded 4.315 million views as of 4:20 p.m. It has also received over 130,000 "likes." This is the first time a Samsung official account has directly posted a "meme" video targeting the defect in Apple's iPhone Duo.
Samsung Electronics' Canadian subsidiary posted a video the previous day of folding and unfolding the Z Fold 8 with the caption, "We could do this all day." This also drew attention as it seemed to indirectly hint at the screen defect of the iPhone Duo. This video has also recorded over 840,000 views and received more than 22,000 "likes."

Apple officially launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on the 23rd. However, defects have been discovered where the screen in the bottom right corner cracks after just a few folds and unfolds within days, or even hours, of buyers receiving their iPhones. Since the screens crack in the exact same shape, the likelihood that it is a defect inherent to the phone itself is increasing. Apple has also officially acknowledged the screen defect in its phones.
This has become a subject of mockery, coinciding with Apple CEO John Turners' earlier disparagement of Samsung Electronics' foldable smartphones ahead of the launch of Apple's first foldable phone, the "iPhone Duo."
CEO John Turners stated in an interview with U.S. newsweekly Time on the 19th, prior to the iPhone Duo launch, that "products released by other companies felt somewhat cheap and crude."
Although no specific company was mentioned, industry observers interpreted this as a jab at Samsung, given that Samsung Electronics has been releasing foldable phones since 2019.
He also drew criticism for provoking Samsung during an online showcase introducing the iPhone Duo on September 9 (local time), stating, "Other companies have made foldable phones that look like two smartphones awkwardly glued together."
Overseas netizens are leaving comments on the relevant videos such as "Samsung dominated" and "A perfect movie."
