On the 27th, Krafton announced that it presented its vision for continuously creating global franchises to global media at Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming show held in Cologne, Germany.
Jang Tae-seok, Head of Global Publishing and PUBG Franchise at Krafton, introduced Krafton's publishing vision based on over a decade of growth alongside fans through the PUBG IP. Starting as a single game, PUBG has continuously evolved to meet changing user expectations and market conditions, growing into a global franchise. Jang emphasized that, drawing on the experience accumulated during this process, Krafton will continue its challenge to reach more fans waiting for new fun by collaborating with creative studios of different genres and distinct identities.
In the first session, Klas Aph Vireun, CEO of Neon Giant, introduced the immersive open-world FPS RPG "NO LAW." Set in the lawless city of "Port Desire," NO LAW is a title where new opportunities and threats arise depending on player choices and actions, creating unique stories for each playthrough.
Kim Nam-seok, CEO of NirvanaNana, presented "Project Zeta," a multi-team tactical arena game. Project Zeta eliminates the LINE battle structure typical of existing MOBA genres, instead featuring four teams of three players competing from the early stages of the game over key objectives to deliver fast-paced, high-density combat.
Jordi Minestral and Alexis Coromina Piccolo, co-founders and directors of Piccolo Studio, introduced the two-player cooperative adventure "Age Twister." The story follows a grandfather and granddaughter as they journey through childhood, youth, adulthood, and old age, weaving generational differences into gameplay and narrative through each life stage's unique abilities and evolving dialogue.
Gu In-young, CEO of Boundary, presented "Tale Unbound," an Eastern dark fantasy action RPG. Tale Unbound combines the aesthetics and imagination of East Asian cultures from the 15th to 17th centuries with a worldview centered on Buddhist concepts of the six realms of reincarnation and karma. It features classes inspired by Eastern history and culture, including "Man-shin," "Chakho-gapsa," "Fengshu-sa," and "Kunoichi."
In the final session, Dave Kord, Creative Director at PUBG Studios, introduced the new title in the PUBG franchise, "PUBG Deadnet." Deadnet reinterprets the survival and competitive experiences accumulated through PUBG Battlegrounds not as a conventional battle royale but as a new form of gameplay. Set in a new world called "Cascadia 1996," inspired by the Pacific Northwest of the United States in the 1990s, Deadnet seeks to expand the identity of PUBG built alongside fans in another way and challenge the possibilities of the franchise.
Jang stated, "Creating games that are remembered for a long time is difficult and takes time. There are no shortcuts or easy paths. Just as PUBG endured through those years to reach fans, I hope the games on today's stage will also ultimately reach fans and be loved." He added, "We will boldly move forward toward the dream of 'If Krafton makes it, it's fun.'"
