Hectopay announced on the 28th that it was selected among the top 30 representative fintech companies in Asia at the 'AFA Awards 2026', organized by the 'Asia Fintech Alliance (AFA)', a coalition of Asian fintech associations.
The AFA is a collaborative network involving fintech associations from 16 Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. It encompasses approximately 6,000 affiliated fintech companies.
Held for the first time this year, the AFA Awards evaluated fintech companies across various countries based on business performance and potential for expansion in the Asian market, selecting 30 companies across five categories. Hectopay was nominated as a candidate for the Grand Award, recognized for its growth potential in the cross-border market. The Choi Jong (수상) company will be determined through additional review.
Hectopay processes over 12 quadrillion won in annual transactions and provides services such as mobile cash payments and electronic payment gateway (PG) solutions. Recently, it has expanded its business scope to include cross-border payments, settlements, and remittances. Its global transaction volume increased by 170.3% year-on-year in 2025.
Notably, the company is cultivating stablecoin operations as a new growth engine. Hectopay has joined as a Korean partner in the 'Circle Payments Network (CPN)', built by USDC issuer Circle, to establish cross-border payment and settlement infrastructure based on USDC.
In the future, the company plans to expand into new business areas beyond stablecoins, including 'agent payments' infrastructure where AI agents purchase products and services and make payments on behalf of humans.
Choi Jong-won, CEO of Hectopay, stated, "We will cultivate stablecoin and AI agent payment infrastructure as new growth engines and leap forward as a global fintech company."
