SK Telecom is introducing a feature that allows AI to automatically categorize photos captured by AI glasses.
On the 31st, SK Telecom announced that it will launch the 'A. log' feature in the A. app, which helps users organize and retrieve photos taken with Meta's AI glasses and Android smartphones.
'A. log' is a function that analyzes information within photos using AI to automatically generate titles, descriptions, and appropriate tags. For example, when a concert poster is photographed, it records details such as the event name, date, and venue. Users can search for specific records by time or keywords and view related records in a list format based on auto-generated tags.
Typically, photos are automatically categorized into various categories including △business cards △receipts △whiteboards △meeting materials △parking locations △posters, among others.
AI glasses users can access the 'A. log' screen from the top-left corner of the A. app and enable the auto-sync feature to link photos taken with AI glasses to A. log for use as records. Compatible devices include all Meta AI glasses models such as Ray-Ban Meta Gen2.
A. app users who rely on smartphones can also apply this function by taking photos using the 'A. log' camera within the A. app or by selecting and importing existing photos from their smartphone photo gallery.
'A. log' automatically masks sensitive information such as resident registration numbers in photos for privacy protection before analysis. Additionally, photos are not stored on servers but are kept only on users' devices.
SKT plans to provide users with an experience of easily recording and reusing daily life through photos via 'A. log.' In the future, the company intends to continuously enhance its AI services by integrating 'A. note' and 'A. log' to offer unified records that allow users to review both photos and notes together.
'A. log' will be available on Android OS through an update to the A. app.
Jang Seong-guk, Head of AI Service Development at SKT, stated, "'A. log' is a feature that extends the usability of new devices capable of quickly capturing moments, such as AI glasses, into daily record-keeping experiences." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to enhance A. services so that customers can more easily create and reuse various forms of information, including photos and notes."
