Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that it is launching a 'Welcome to Foldables' outdoor advertising campaign featuring the Galaxy Z Fold8 series at major city landmarks around the world. This move is interpreted as an effort to generate awareness for the Z Fold8 series in 106 markets worldwide ahead of Apple's release of its foldable phone, a strong rival, on the 9th.
Samsung Electronics began digital outdoor advertising for the Galaxy Z Fold8 series at Seoul Gwanghwamun KT Square in Korea on the 2nd. It is now sequentially running advertisements at six major landmarks including COEX K-POP LIVE, Shibuya Station in Tokyo, Japan, Piccadilly Circus and Outer Net in London, UK.
Samsung Electronics' 'Fold', first introduced in 2019, has grown into a brand representing the foldable market and a source of pride for Samsung Electronics smartphone innovation after eight generations.
The Galaxy Z Fold series is a smartphone that adjusts screen ratios and specifications to allow users to comfortably use foldables every day, reflecting actual user feedback. The particularly popular Z Fold8 is optimized for consumers who make high use of media, with a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded. Both the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra have improved creasing, a drawback of foldables, while also advancing software and AI optimized for the products and an ecosystem connecting to various Galaxy devices.
Based on this, the digital outdoor advertising video features three messages: △'Ultra Thin' △'The world's lightest foldable'
△'Built to outlast', conveying confidence in the technological prowess accumulated over eight generations.
Currently, millions of users worldwide are using Galaxy foldables across 106 markets. The latest Galaxy Z Fold8 series has achieved a record-breaking pre-sale number for all-time Galaxy smartphones in Korea.
