AhnLab plans to invest 100 billion won in the AI field over the next three years. This marks its ambition to transform into an "AI-native security platform company." The company also set a goal to achieve 1 trillion won in annual revenue and account for 30% of global sales by 2035.
On the 16th, AhnLab held a press conference and unveiled its AI-centric integrated brand, "AhnLab AI Plus." On this occasion, CEO Kang Seok-kyun presented specific challenges, including a SaaS (Software as a Service)-centered business structure, AI-native security, and AhnLab's growth.
First, AhnLab will transition to a SaaS structure that allows for continuous updates and flexible use, renewal, and expansion. Instead of introducing large-scale systems all at once, the company will support applying necessary products and functions first and then expanding flexibly.
To achieve this, AhnLab will build two platforms: "AI Plus Endpoint" and "AI Plus SecOps." The endpoint platform will integrate EPP (Endpoint Protection Platform) and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) on a SaaS basis. It will expand protection targets from PCs to servers, virtual environments, containers, and mobile devices, and is set to support HYBE-led configurations.
SecOps is an operational platform that connects various security data and operational functions centered around XDR, MDR, and AI SOC (Security Operations Center). In addition to AhnLab products, it aggregates security signals from third-party solutions, analyzes attack context and priorities, and supports a seamless flow of prevention, detection, investigation, and response.
AI-native security refers to a system that redesigns products, services, and security functions centered around AI. It is an evolved concept from the existing "AI-powered security," which applied AI to individual products and services. The company explains that AI will be expanded across the entire corporate portfolio and business framework, not limited to individual products.
AhnLab plans to implement an "agent-based AI architecture" that consolidates data scattered across products and areas while enabling multiple AI agents to collaborate. When AI analyzes the relevance, flow, and impact scope of risk signals from individual products, reconstructs them into a single incident, and suggests response priorities, security operators can identify critical risks and necessary investigation or response measures to take action accordingly.
AhnLab currently possesses over 2.5 petabytes (PB) of security data, 13 specialized AI models for security, and 60 security task tools usable by AI agents. Additionally, the company processes more than 190 million security objects and over 50 billion tokens monthly. It has also reduced processing time for certain tasks in the AI SOC from five minutes to two minutes, cutting it by approximately 60%.
In this process, AhnLab will apply the principle of "controlled autonomy," granting AI autonomy while managing it through authority, policies, audits, and approvals. AI decisions, actions, and data access processes will be recorded and reviewed, with major measures executed only after user approval.
AhnLab has invested more than 30% of its annual revenue in research and development every year so far. Over the next three years, investments will focus on strengthening "AI infrastructure" to enhance AI computing, data, and platform foundations, as well as boosting "AI R&D capabilities" by advancing AI technologies and professional talent. The company also plans to accelerate global expansion through strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint research, business cooperation, and investments.
CEO Kang Seok-kyun stated, "AI is changing the rules and competitive order of cybersecurity." He added, "We will grow into an AI-native security platform company that supports proactive response and secure security operations based on responsible innovation."
