SK Telecom will showcase 11 technologies and services that use artificial intelligence (AI) to solve social issues, ranging from preventing voice phishing and detecting financial fraud to caring for vulnerable groups.
On Monday, SKT will set up a 72-square-meter exhibition space at the '3rd Korea Social Value Festa' held at COEX in Seoul's Gangnam District, introducing cases where its sustainable management vision, 'Do The Good AI,' has been applied to actual services and businesses.
Key exhibition items include: 'A-dot Phone Family Care,' which detects suspicious circumstances of voice phishing using AI; 'Fame,' which detects and prevents financial fraud risks based on communication usage history and real-time location and movement data; 'AI Care Call,' where an AI counselor calls vulnerable groups to check on their well-being; and 'Carevia,' which supports caregiving by analyzing life-cycle data of people with developmental disabilities based on AI.
In addition, the exhibition will feature: open innovation platform 'SKTCH'; AI education and talent development programs 'Happy AI Coding School·Challenge & Fly AI Challenger'; 'REALY.AI' for detecting false and fraudulent advertisements; AI braille translation 'Semojeom'; digital oral care 'EyeClo'; early wildfire detection 'CoreMotion'; and sleep biosignal monitoring 'SleepWave.'
The exhibition hall is themed around 'A Sustainable Future Together Through Better Connections.' The focus goes beyond introducing individual AI technologies to demonstrating how technology connects people and society, leading to social value. The booth utilizes eco-friendly materials such as recycled plastic.
At 4 p.m. today, the 'SKTCH (Sketch) Concert' will also be held. Companies participating in SKT's ESG (environmental, social, and governance) startup incubation program 'SKTCH for Good' will share social issues identified on-site and their proposed solutions.
The concert will cover three areas: digital inclusion and care, climate disaster response, and prevention of digital crime. Experts in each field will highlight social issues, participating startups will present cases where they have used technology and services to address these issues, followed by a panel discussion.
Eom Jong-hwan, head of SKT's Sustainable Management Division, said, "We plan to demonstrate how AI can better connect people with people and people with society, solving various problems our society faces." He added, "SKT will contribute to creating a sustainable future by connecting its technologies and capabilities with the ideas of diverse partners."
