Ellis Group has completed the trademark registration for its self-developed modular AI data center, 'PMDC,' and is set to expand its AI infrastructure business both domestically and internationally.
On the 8th, Ellis Group announced that it completed the trademark registration for 'PMDC' on the 17th of last month. The company plans to leverage this milestone to strengthen the technological capabilities and brand competitiveness of PMDC, which it has accumulated over the past five years.
PMDC is a modular data center in which core equipment such as servers, power, cooling, and networking are pre-manufactured at a factory and then rapidly installed on-site once power and land have been secured.
Since 2021, Ellis Group has applied the name PMDC to its self-designed modular AI data center and has been developing and operating it. The company is also continuously refining related technologies, including direct liquid cooling (DLC) and hot water cooling, to address heat generation from high-performance GPUs.
The company is also pursuing integration with its in-house developed AI cloud software, 'ECI.' By linking PMDC and ECI, Ellis Group aims to provide an integrated AI cloud infrastructure that covers everything from data center construction to the operation and management of GPU clusters. It is also increasing real-world application cases, such as the edge AI data center currently being built at the Busan manufacturing industrial complex.
Based on PMDC, Ellis Group plans to expand its domestic AI infrastructure while accelerating its entry into overseas markets. The company is also pursuing a business model that combines modular AI data centers and cloud operation technology to supply AI computing resources produced domestically to global markets.
Kim Jae-won, CEO of Ellis Group, stated, "PMDC is Ellis Group's core AI infrastructure, for which we have designed the system in 2021 and accumulated technical expertise by operating it in actual AI cloud environments." He added, "With this trademark registration as a starting point, we will strengthen both the technological competitiveness and brand value of PMDC, and expand our position in the domestic and international AI infrastructure markets."
