TVXQ member U-Know Yunho sparked controversy after a heated exchange with fans who criticized his lack of communication on a paid fan interaction platform.
Recently, posts titled "Lee Kwang-soon sends dozens of messages a day, but U-Know Yunho only shows up after two months to engage in a power struggle with fans" have spread across the OnLINE community and social media. The posts included screenshots of messages exchanged between U-Know Yunho and fans on "Bubble," a paid fan communication platform, in July.
The controversy began when some fans pointed out that U-Know Yunho's frequency of communication was low. U-Know replied, "I'm sorry, but it's okay if you can't understand. I am doing my best to be on this Bubble, and I apologize for not being able to satisfy you, but I think this is the best I can do. Please don't provoke me for no reason."
When a fan retorted that "since it is a paid service, he should communicate at least once a month" and noted that his last post was in early May, U-Know Yunho shared the message publicly and said, "Please don't talk like this. If you are going to speak so provocatively, you don't have to come."
He added, "I can understand if you feel hurt, but those who express themselves in this way are not showing respect for each other," and concluded with, "Get out if you have no respect."
Netizens left comments such as, "No matter how honest it is, they are celebrities. Talking like that while communicating with fans on a paid platform seems to cross the line," "It doesn't look good when a celebrity fights with a fan," and "Has he lost his original intention?"
Some fans responded, saying, "That was months ago" and "He has been communicating every day since then until it gets tiring. He posts from early morning to night."
