Actor Yoo Jae-myung opened up about his honest feelings regarding reactions that he looks older than his actual age.
According to StarNews and News1 on the 21st, Yoo Jae-myung shared his thoughts on his appearance and age management during a press interview related to the film “CSAT: The Secret of Question Making” held that day.
In the film, Yoo Jae-myung appears as a college classmate of actor Kim Young-min. In reality, Yoo Jae-myung, born in 1973, is three years younger than Kim Young-min, who was born in 1970.
On this matter, Yoo Jae-myung joked, “Senior Kim Young-min is three years older than me,” adding, “As you all know, it’s him who is the anomaly. He looks unrealistically young; I am simply living at a normal age.”
He also touched upon the fact that he was revealed to be younger than broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk on a past variety show, which had sparked attention.
Yoo Jae-myung candidly admitted, “I am human, so it does not make me feel good when people say I look old.”
He continued, “Dyeing my hair and taking care of my skin would probably make me look a bit better,” while stating, “Fundamentally, the direction of my life is to be as I am. I think it is fine for an actor to show the process of aging.”
He added, “I just live my life. I use sunscreen, but I don’t necessarily go to the hospital [for cosmetic procedures].”
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-myung plays Moon Joo-yeol, the chair of the Korean language question-making committee, in the film “CSAT: The Secret of Question Making,” which opens on the 28th.
The film is a comedy depicting the struggles of Korean language teacher Maeng Bo-ram (played by Lee Sun-bin), who joins the question-making headquarters isolated from the outside world for 40 days to create questions for the College Scholastic Ability Test, as she works hard to produce problems free of typos and disputes.
