Youngsu and Soon-ja, who appeared on Season 25 of the SBS Plus and ENA variety show "I Am SOLO (Solo)," shared the news of their surprise wedding.
On the 22nd, a video titled "Solonara News. Two years after choosing first impressions, we are now getting married. Exclusive interview with Youngsu from Season 25 and Soonja from Season 25" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Chonjang Entertainment TV.'
In the video, Youngsu and Soon-ja revealed that they will hold their wedding ceremony on December 5. The two, who had been friends since appearing on "I Am Solo" in 2024, began dating with marriage in mind around mid-August last month and decided to get married within two months.
The couple's wedding invitations were also revealed in the video that day. Youngsu said, "We handled the wedding invitations as quickly as roasting beans in a lightning flash. We greeted our parents on Sunday, came back, immediately applied for the invitations, and received them via courier the next day."
Soon-ja added, "We also did our wedding photoshoot today, so we included the scene where we chose our first impressions in Season 25 on the invitation." Youngsu revealed, "The day we filmed that scene was December 5, 2024. Since I wanted it to be a meaningful day anyway, I suggested we get married on the second anniversary of that date."
Explaining why she decided to marry despite the short dating period, Soon-ja said, "It has been almost two years since I met (Youngsu). When we were colleagues, the way he treated people at gatherings was trustworthy. He felt like a responsible head of household."
Youngsu also stated, "(I have) not raised my voice with (Soon-ja) even once in the little over two months we have been dating," adding, "I held a solo concert last year, and heavy snowfall paralyzed the roads. When I said 'Thank you for coming,' Soon-ja spoke to me warmly. At that moment, I felt she was really great."
