Former announcer turned broadcaster Do Kyung-wan (44) disclosed the status of his stock investments.
On the 22nd, an episode of KBS2’s variety show “New Product Launch: Biantastaurant” aired, revealing the daily life of the couple Do Kyung-wan and Jang Yoon-jung.
Checking his stock trading window from early in the morning, Do sighed, saying, “Why is SK Hynix dropping? I went in with leverage.” Leverage refers to an investment method where profits double, but losses can also exceed twice the initial amount.
Forgetting that he was being filmed, Do inadvertently let out a curse. He lamented, “I shouldn’t have gotten involved. The return rate is minus 40%. I bought another stock at 490,000 won, but it’s now worth 290,000 won. It also broke below 400,000 won elsewhere.”
Do stated, “On top of that, 10,000 won went out for the group fund, leaving only 254,795 won in my account.” He explained, “A lot of money goes into the house. Of course, the person who earns a large income (Jang Yoon-jung) covers the big expenses, but I thought I should at least pay for the management fees.”
Upon noticing that his electricity and water bills were significantly higher than the previous month, Do said, “I’ve had management fees reach 1.5 million won before. That’s enough to buy one share of SK Hynix and three shares of Samsung Electronics.” He trailed off, adding, “I jumped into stocks trying to earn at least enough for the management fees, but…”
