Choi Kang-changmin (38, real name Shim Chang-min), a member of the group TVXQ, shared his experience of being stunned by actor Won Bin (48, real name Kim Do-jin) in person.
On the 21st, a video featuring Choi Kang-changmin as a guest was uploaded to the YouTube channel of Lee Ji-young, an instructor for the Social Studies exploration area.
In the video, when Lee Ji-young said to Choi Kang-changmin, "I heard you are often described as a handsome man in person," Choi Kang-changmin replied, "For most celebrities, they look much better in person. They appear puffy on camera, which is frustrating. In reality, they are far healthier-looking handsome men and beautiful women."
In response, Lee Ji-young mentioned Walter Benjamin's concept of "aura" and explained, "Because a person's presence, feeling, air, and atmosphere cannot all be captured by the camera, the phrase 'does not photograph well' can actually be interpreted as meaning that the person has a good aura."
When Choi Kang-changmin asked if there had been any celebrity or baseball player he had met who possessed an aura, Lee Ji-young revealed, "I took the same class as Kim Tae-hee when I was in college," drawing attention. Lee Ji-young and Kim Tae-hee are alumni of Seoul National University.
Lee Ji-young said, "Kim Tae-hee had already debuted as a commercial model. After we ran into each other at the sink in the restroom, I suddenly felt like I turned into a sea cucumber, a jellyfish, or a sea squirt. I had never thought of myself as looking like a squid before in my life, but that was the first time it happened," eliciting laughter.
Choi Kang-changmin then confessed to having a similar experience. He is usually a fan of Won Bin and has watched the movie "A Man Called God" more than 50 times. He said he saw Won Bin while driving at the Cheongdam intersection. Choi Kang-changmin recalled, "I wanted to pull my car over on the road and run after him."
Choi Kang-changmin added, "While driving, I looked in the rearview mirror and realized that (my) face looked like a two-dimensional drawing. It seems I must have felt similar then." In response, Lee Ji-young joked, "It looks like comments will be posted saying, 'If Choi Kang-changmin is dots and lines, I am particles or atoms.'"
As Choi Kang-changmin repeatedly exclaimed, "Won Bin hyung is truly handsome," Lee Ji-young said, "He must be a celebrity among celebrities." Choi Kang-changmin then declared, "It's really insane. Becoming an acquaintance of his is one of my remaining goals in the entertainment industry," adding to the laughter.
