Rapper Yang Hong-won, who has been embroiled in daily controversy after visiting a club on Halloween while his wife was caring for their child, following infidelity suspicions that surfaced just five days after his wedding, shared cryptic lyrics.
On the 31st of last month, Yang Hong-won posted a video on his Instagram Story playing rapper Drake's song "WNBA."
The portion shared by Yang Hong-won included lyrics such as, "It feels like we're drifting apart," "I'm on my way to you. I want to see you and say what I want to say in person," "We are not a relationship that ends easily," "Whether it's home or far away, this is not it," and "You are the only truly unexplainable person."
Yang Hong-won did not add any particular explanation to the post. However, some have speculated that it was a message directed at his wife, Won Hyeon-ju. Some netizens also responded that he may have simply shared the song.
Yang Hong-won held his wedding with former model Won Hyeon-ju on the 18th of last month, only to be engulfed in infidelity suspicions five days later. The couple filed their marriage registration in 2023 and has a daughter born in 2024.
Previously, a man identified as A, who claimed to be an acquaintance of Yang Hong-won, alleged on October 23 via Instagram and a live broadcast that Yang Hong-won had gone to a lodging facility with another woman. In the process, A released photos of the woman and call records, among other things.
His agency, AP Alchemy, acknowledged that Yang Hong-won accompanied a female acquaintance to a motel but explained that there was no intimate behavior in the room. The agency also stated, "The materials presented by the whistleblower are maliciously edited results," and announced that it had filed criminal complaints against A for extortion, violation of the Stalking Punishment Act, and defamation through dissemination of false facts.
Subsequently, on the 31st, during the Halloween period, photos and videos claiming to have spotted Yang Hong-won in the Seoul Hongdae area spread across various online communities and social media. A video showing Yang Hong-won holding a microphone and rapping was also posted on the SNS of a club in Hongdae.
Netizens showed negative reactions, with comments such as, "His wife is raising the child alone, yet he's at a club again," and "He has no time for childcare but has time to go to a club?"
Yang Hong-won recently deleted the phrase he had written on his wedding photos: "Hyeon-ju, I love you. I still feel like I'm entering a motel in Cheongho-dong." However, he left the wedding photo taken with his wife as is and did not reveal any particular stance on the reason for deleting the phrase.
Although Yang Hong-won has been in the spotlight due to successive controversies, the actual relationship between the couple, Yang Hong-won and Won Hyeon-ju, has yet to be revealed.
