A video showing singer Roy Kim falling from a stage at a concert venue in Busan has been released, drawing sympathy.
On the 2nd, a video of Roy Kim slipping and falling off the stage spread across online communities and social media (SNS).
In the released video, Roy Kim was seen walking toward the front of the stage while singing into a microphone with a guitar strapped to his body. Then, at the edge of the stage, he stepped into thin air and fell straight down. Due to the sudden accident, Roy Kim disappeared below the stage in an instant. The incident reportedly occurred during a sound check before the start of a performance at an event venue in Busan. In this video, Roy Kim left a message saying, "I even did you a favor by warding off bad luck," and added, "Please all be happy."
Roy Kim explained the circumstances of the accident online on the 29th of last month. He stated, "There was an event performance in Busan," and explained, "Since it was originally a musical theater venue, there was a space called a 'pit' in front of the stage where the audience could not be seen." He continued, "I was performing on stage and walked forward, but I didn't know there was a pit there," and said, "All the lights were off and the ground was sunken, but without knowing that, I fell while carrying my guitar."
He said he moved his body to prevent the guitar from being damaged even at the moment of falling. Roy Kim explained, "I thought if the guitar got hurt, the audience wouldn't be able to see the performance," and added, "To protect the guitar, I landed on my feet and lay down on my buttocks."
It is known that he injured his right leg and knee in this accident but avoided a fracture. Roy Kim revealed, "It hurts, so I need to rest for two weeks, but it is within bearable limits," and stated, "I protected the guitar and successfully completed the next day's performance as well."
Roy Kim posted a photo on his SNS on the 29th of last month showing him wearing a brace on his right knee. At the time, he wrote, "Perhaps because I didn't know what to do with my body out of gratitude for the sold-out rows at a concert filled with love, I fell off the stage during a performance for the first time in 14 years." He then added, "Fortunately, they say I will be fully healed by the time of the concert, so please don't worry," reassuring his fans. In the comments section, he also added, "It is a million times lucky that my bones are not actually broken."
Meanwhile, Roy Kim will hold his solo concert '2026-27 Roy Kim Live Tour in Seoul' at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, for three days from the 20th to the 22nd. This is his first solo concert at the KSPO Dome since his debut. It was originally scheduled for two days on the 21st and 22nd, but a performance on the 20th was added due to sold-out tickets.
