On the 11th, bio-company Dussel announced that it has selected Eugene Investment & Securities as its lead manager and is officially beginning procedures for an initial public offering (IPO) on KOSDAQ.
Dussel plans to apply for a technology evaluation in 2027 and aims to list on the KOSDAQ market after 2028, preparing for the IPO accordingly.
Founded in 2021, Dussel is developing transfusion-grade therapeutics, tissue regeneration treatments, and cell culture additives based on its stem cell-based artificial platelet production platform. Currently, it is promoting the commercialization of artificial platelet lysate, a cell culture additive, while conducting R&D (research and development) to enter clinical trials for transfusion-grade artificial platelets.
In January this year, the company succeeded in producing artificial platelets using a 50L bioreactor for the first time worldwide, laying the foundation for mass production. This achievement surpasses the 45L production record set by Japanese megacell pioneer Megacelion at the end of last year. Following this, Dussel completed the acquisition of a semi-GMP (semi-good manufacturing practice) production facility in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, and is now working to establish Korea's first artificial platelet mass production system.
Eugene Investment & Securities highly evaluated that Dussel has secured an advanced regenerative medicine platform capable of simultaneously targeting the bio-materials and therapeutics markets based on a single platform technology.
Previously, Dussel completed a Series C investment raising 23.5 billion won in March this year, bringing the cumulative investment amount to approximately 41 billion won so far.
Dussel plans to expand sales from its cell culture additive business before listing and accelerate the development of pipeline products such as transfusion-grade artificial platelets and osteoarthritis treatments.
Lee Min-woo, CEO of Dussel, stated, "We plan to pursue a successful IPO with Eugene Investment & Securities to expand R&D investments necessary for the development and commercialization of artificial platelets. We aim to grow into an essential medicine company that contributes to solving blood supply issues by commercializing artificial platelet treatments as soon as possible."
