Taihan Cable & Solution has secured an additional turnkey project contract in Germany, strengthening its offensive in the European market.
On the 27th, Taihan Cable & Solution announced that its Dutch subsidiary won a turnkey contract for a 380kV (kilovolt) ultra-high-voltage power grid project in Germany.
The project will proceed with the Dutch subsidiary overseeing the entire project, including local engineering and construction, while the Taihan Cable & Solution headquarters produces and supplies core materials such as ultra-high-voltage cables and accessories.
Accordingly, the company disclosed on the same day that the Taihan Cable & Solution headquarters signed a contract worth approximately 115 billion won with its Dutch subsidiary. This pertains to material supply and related matters by the Taihan Cable & Solution headquarters; the total turnkey project contract value for the Dutch subsidiary, which includes local engineering and construction, exceeds this amount. Details such as the total contract value and the client are not disclosed in accordance with a non-disclosure agreement with the client.
This project involves constructing a 380kV power grid, the highest voltage among underground AC power grids in Germany. Taihan Cable & Solution had already consecutively won two 380kV ultra-high-voltage power grid projects in Germany in January 2023. This additional contract signifies that its capabilities in the German market have been re-recognized in terms of project execution experience, quality reliability, and technological prowess.
By winning large-scale projects in Germany, Denmark, the UK, and elsewhere, Taihan Cable & Solution has secured over 500 billion won in new orders in Europe alone this year, strengthening its position as a major supplier. Currently, investment in ultra-high-voltage power infrastructure in Europe is continuously expanding to respond to the spread of AI and the increase in data centers.
A representative from Taihan Cable & Solution stated, "We will further strengthen cooperative relationships with customers and partners in Europe and enhance our understanding of local markets and business capabilities." The representative added, "Based on the customer trust secured in the ultra-high-voltage power grid business, we will expand business opportunities in the HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) and submarine cable sectors and connect them to new orders."
