Actor Lee Gye-in (74) shared his recent life living alone in a 400-pyeong former Wonju residence in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
On the 26th, a video was released on the YouTube channel 'Kim Young-ok' showing actress Kim Young-ok visiting her junior colleague Lee Gye-in's home.
In the video, upon seeing Lee Gye-in's house with an arched gate, Kim Young-ok exclaimed, "So this is where you live," and added, "First of all, he's rich." Lee Gye-in was living in two houses built on a 1322.31㎡ (approximately 400-pyeong) plot with a spacious yard.
Inside the house, Kim Young-ok sat on a rocking chair placed in the center of the living room, looked around, and remarked, "He has set things up well so he can live happily alone."
When Kim Young-ok asked, "You're not living with your wife here?" and "(Is your wife) alone in Seoul?", Lee Gye-in replied that his wife's temperament doesn't match the countryside and confirmed they are currently separated.
He continued, explaining, "She is with the children. Not in Seoul, but in Ilsan. We sold our Yeouido house and moved to Ilsan." He added that his wife now splits her time between their home in Ilsan, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, and Lee Gye-in's residence in Namyangju.
Lee Gye-in said, "I feel no loneliness at all being alone," and described his busy daily routine: "When I wake up, I have to go to the chicken coop, and at night, I turn on the TV and talk with my family."
In response, Kim Young-ok stated, "If you have things to do, there's no room for loneliness," to which Lee Gye-in replied, "Around 4 a.m., the chickens start crowing. I raise them for the fun of watching these small chicks grow."
Additionally, Lee Gye-in proudly mentioned that his son is 39 years old and still handsome, then expressed happiness, saying, "When my granddaughter sends me a text saying 'Stay healthy,' I feel like I actually get healthier."
Lee Gye-in married his first wife in 1992 but later divorced. He remarried in October 1997 to a woman ten years younger than him, but that marriage also ended in divorce.
Regarding his first marriage, Lee Gye-in previously stated it was a "fraudulent marriage," explaining, "She deceived me and married me while she had been cohabiting with her lover for 10 years. I only learned the truth late and subsequently divorced."
After his second divorce, Lee Gye-in adopted his ex-wife's son. He revealed that he is currently living with his present wife, who is ten years younger than him, without registering their marriage in 2024.
