After School alum actress Nana has issued a direct statement regarding the controversy over her lips that erupted following the release of the Netflix original series 'Scandal'.
On the 22nd, Nana shared her honest thoughts on the reactions surrounding her work through the fan communication platform Bubble.
'Scandal' is a remake of the 2003 film 'Scandal: The Secret Love of Joseon Men and Women', and after its release, some viewers pointed out that Nana's appearance did not fit the historical setting, hindering immersion.
In particular, criticism regarding her appearance continued, with comments suggesting she had undergone filler treatment for her full lips.
In response, Nana stated, "If my lips caused discomfort to those who saw them, it is my fault," and added, "I believe my personal choice was not the right one as an actress."
She further said, "Fans who love me must feel heartbroken seeing harsh criticism of me, so I feel even more sorry. From now on, I will strive to be able to hear good words together with them."
Nana played the role of Hee-yeon, a widow, in 'Scandal'. In the original film, actress Jeon Do-yeon portrayed the same role.
