Singer Sim Soo-bong, 71, will reveal her husband and share their love story on a broadcast for the first time.
The KBS2 variety program 'Shin Sang-chulsi Pyeonstaurant,' airing at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, is prepared for the Chuseok holiday and features Sim as a guest.
The veteran trot singer will reveal her home, which she has lived in for over 30 years. Though seemingly unfamiliar with observational variety shows, she expressed surprise, saying, "There are so many cameras," while introducing various parts of the house and performing a song accompanied by a piano that is more than 30 years old.
Notably, her husband, Kim Ho-kyung, makes his first-ever appearance on television. Sim's nephew, Son Tae-jin, who watched from the studio, exclaimed in surprise, "This is our grandfather's first public reveal."
Sim shares that she first met her husband when he was a radio DJ and producer, revealing, "It was unrequited love." She also discloses that she once sang a special song for him to convey her feelings.
She also shares the story behind her representative hit song, 'One Million Roses.' While discussing the background of the song's creation, Sim expresses gratitude, saying, "It was all thanks to my husband."
Sim debuted in 1978 on MBC's 'University Song Festival' with her self-composed song 'That Person Back Then.' Since then, she has released numerous hit songs, including 'Men Are Sails and Women Are Harbors,' 'I Only Know Love,' 'Rainy Day,' and 'One Million Roses.'
After experiencing two divorces, Sim married Kim, a radio producer, in 1993. The couple has been together for over 30 years.
